Jail Tamil Movie (2018): Jail is an upcoming Tamil romantic action drama written and directed by National Award Winner, Vasanthabalan. Produced by Sridharan Mariadhasan of Krikes Cine Creations, Jail movie features G. V. Prakash Kumar and Enga Veetu Mapillai fame Abarnathy in lead roles along with Radhika Sarathkumar and Paandi in supporting roles. Ganesh Chandra is cranking the camera for this movie and writers S Ramakrishnan and Bakkiyam Shankar has penned the dialogues for this movie. Raymond Derrick Crasta of Aruvi fame has handled the editing work for this movie and G.V. Prakash has composed the music for this movie.

Kaaviya Thalaivan

Kaaviya Thalaivan (Tamil : காவியத்தலைவன், English : Epic Leader) is a 2014 Tamil Historical Biographical film written and directed by Vasanthabalan. Set in early 20th century, the film is about the lives of two theatre artistes played by Siddharth and Prithviraj Sukumaran and the competition that exists between them in a small drama troupe. The former is the main lead whereas the latter one is the antagonist in the film. Nassar plays the role of a guru to these actors and the role of actress Vedhicka is inspired by the stage artist and singer K. B. Sundarambal. The original songs and film score were composed by A. R. Rahman.

Aravaan (English: Snake) is a 2012 Indian Tamil epic historical fiction film directed by Vasanthabalan, based on Su. Venkatesan's novel Kaaval Kottam. It stars Aadhi, Dhansika, Archana Kavi and Pasupathy, with Kabir Bedi playing a prominent role, and Bharath appearing in a cameo role. The film marks noted playback singer Karthik's debut as a music director. The film was dubbed into Hindi as Jungle The Battleground and into Telugu as Eka Veera.

Angaadi Theru (English: Street Market) is a 2010 Indian Tamil romantic drama film written and directed by Vasanthabalan, starring debutant Mahesh and Anjali in the lead roles. The title refers to the Ranganathan Street in Chennai where the story plays. The film features music jointly composed by Vijay Antony and G. V. Prakash Kumar. An Ayngaran International production, the film was launched on 11 February 2008 and released on 26 March 2010 to critical acclaim. The film was shortlisted for the Indian submissions for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film but lost to Peepli Live. It released in Telugu as Shopping Mall.

Veyil (English: Summer) is a 2006 Tamil-language drama film written and directed by Vasanthabalan. Bharath and Pasupathy are the male leads whereas Bhavana, Priyanka and Sriya Reddy plays the female leads. Upon release, the movie met with highly positive reviews and was commercially successful.

Album is a 2002 Indian Tamil romantic drama film written and directed by Vasanthabalan, starring Aryan Rajesh and Shrutika. The story portrays the love and affection between two families. The film, produced by Kavithalayaa Productions, was Vasanthabalan's directorial debut. It is best known for featuring the popular chartbuster track "Chellame Chellam" from Karthik Raja's soundtrack to the film, which was award-winning playback singer Shreya Ghoshal's first song in Tamil language.
